Some Tips to Use:
For cooking just pre-soak in cold water for 5 hours. This removes the naturally occurring Lectin and Saponin found in many pulses, which can impede digestion. Drain and put Red Lentils in a pot of cold water and bring to the boil and cook it for about 30-40 minutes.
As a general note, DO NOT add salt while cooking any type of beans, as this can make their outer skins tough.
You can make delicious vegan lentil burgers with besan flour, spices and fresh herbs; or add puree for dips and to thicken savoury dishes.
