Our Broad Beans are 100% Australian grown, non-GMO and have no added preservatives. They have a light flavour, natural savoury aroma and smooth texture when cooked. and traditionally used as baked beans and are great in vegetarian recipes.
Some Tips To Use:
They should be pre-soak in plenty of cold water at least for 3 hours before cooking. This removes the naturally occurring Lectin and Saponin found in many pulses, which can impede digestion. Drain, rinse well and cook them for 60-90 minutes.
As a general note, DO NOT add salt while cooking any type of beans, as this can make their outer skins tough. You can add diced tomatoes, chopped fried onion, chopped mushrooms and garlic-infused olive oil to have delicious home-made baked beans. Add some chilli if you like chilli food to see how beautiful it is.
